Fundamental destination of the Grand Tour, Naples offers to the visitor its splendid views and all travellers are keen to write down all its charm in the diaries and in the travel books. In the stranger’s perspective the city and his surroundings, despite all its complexity, is as an ideal garden, where the turbulent nature of Vesuvius and the bustle of people coexists harmoniously within a shiny and colorful panorama, as in the bright paintings of Jakob Philipp Hackert.
