XIV, 342, with 42 engraved plates (mostly folding), including a bird-eye-view of Venice; many plates contain 2 views. Sixth edition (the first in 1740) of this very famous illustrated guide of Venice, originally edited by G.B. Albrizzi (1698-1777), “stampatore ed editore a Venezia e tra i più caratteristici progenitori del giornalismo moderno” (DBI). The engravings are depicting the most important and known monuments and buildings of the town, with animated views showing the characteristic ‘Gondole’ boats, etc. Morazzoni, pp. 230 e 64-65: “La guida che tutte le altre supera per praticità di notizie e soprattutto per la ricchezza delle tavole …”.
